Descaling and Barrier Coating Project

Eaton’s Engineering reached out to Mathis Plumbing because they were having ongoing problems with their sewer lines backing up. They asked us to descale and apply a protective Barrier Coating to sections of their old cast iron pipes, which run under the floor of the plant—some of it under heavy equipment.
Before we could start the coating process, we had to first figure out exactly where the lines were and how we could get to them. That meant cutting and removing some concrete, digging down to the pipes, and installing clean-outs to give us proper access.
After the clean-outs were installed, we poured the concrete back and then moved forward with the Barrier Coating process using our Spin-Cast method. This gave the old cast iron pipes a new lease on life by restoring their inside surface and protecting them from further damage.
In the end, the plant has seen a big improvement—stoppages have been reduced or completely eliminated in some areas, and the coated pipes are now protected for the long haul.
